The Institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and Doctoral programmes. Students are admitted based on a national level entrance examination - SAAT. The institute has signed MoU with industries such as Infosys, Wipro, Hexaware, Mindtree, Mahindra & Mahindra and Mahindra International Tractors Ltd. The Institute constantly keeps itself updated with the developments in critical areas of research in science and technology across the globe and is responsive to the changing trends in education, research and market.

Faculty of Management Studies

In a churning global market place, understanding the fundamental connection between business, environment and society has become essential. The roles and responsibilities of business as a global force are becoming more urgent and complex and concepts related to societal responsibility and sustainability are gaining recognition as essential elements in business management.
The Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), faculty of management studies, SOA - Deemed to be University has been imparting quality education in business and hospital administration since 1997 and 2008 respectively. IBCS strives to build future managers to become effective decision makers in their fields through upgradation of knowledge and sharpening of managerial skills. The programme broadens the overall perspective of the students so that they can become catalysts for change. It also improves managerial effectiveness and prepares managers for both corporate and non-corporate sectors.
The Institute has got ISO 9001-2000 certification by URS, UK in testimony to its commitment towards imparting quality professional education. The Institute has entered into agreement with Reliance Money, Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange and Pantaloon Retail for imparting training to MBA students. It has signed MOU with FICCI, RAI and CII.

Faculty of Medical Sciences

Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, established in 2005, is a leading medical institute providing quality medical education and global standard health care services. The Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has approved the MBBS programme of the institute since 2007-2008 and post graduate (MD) programmes from 2011. Its evolving growth is based on value added medical education & research. The MBBS students are exposed to multi specialty facilities like Dialysis, CT Scan, MRI, Cath Lab along with ICU, ICCU, NICU and PICU as an integral part of their learning. The students learn the sensitive issues in medical science and health care with simultaneous emphasis on the introduction of technology in critical surgery, diagnosis and life support systems. Fibre optics, digital sensors & display, nano technology have become regular part of medical education that IMS imparts.
SUM Hospital is an intrinsic part of the Institute of Medical Sciences with a total number of 750 beds, 25 intensive care beds and 150 cabins. SUM Hospital offers therapeutic care with a focus on preventive care for a healthy society. IMS & SH have a promise to serve the society with care and human touch.

Faculty of Hotel Management

School of Hotel Management (SHM) was set up in 2004 with approval from AICTE, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The aesthetics of hospitality industry unfolds a wide area of learning and application in the field of food and beverage, catering, nutrition, housekeeping, front office management, foreign exchange and event management to name a few. Globalization, international traffic and cross cultural tastes have created a demand for educated and skilled managers in hospitality business. Currently 2.4 million people trained in hospitality management are working in India. Significantly employment opportunities in foreign countries are available in increasing numbers. SHM is dedicated to provide innovative training to the students to make them industry adaptable. The learning and work environment in SHM is supported by professional attitude, proactive relations with industry and research collaboration with other institutes.

Faculty of Nursing

Sum Nursing College (SNC) was established in 2004 with the approval of Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and Govt. of Odisha. The College in association with IMS and 750-bedded SUM Hospital provides on the job and first hand training to the students.
At SNC, the aspiring nurses assimilate the tender disposition required to supervise, monitor and implement what the doctors prescribe for the patient. The intricacy of the art of nursing involves knowledge of technological use, counseling, care and being humane that the college sincerely promotes.

Faculty of Dental Sciences

Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), established in 2006-07, is recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt. of India for its BDS programme. The Institute employs state-of-the-art equipment and instruments that foster dental care and treatment. IDS offers four year BDS programme plus one year paid rotating internship. The Institute has introduced new subjects like Forensic Odontology, Oral Implantology and Aesthetic Dentistry.
The Institute is a centre for education and research in the field of dentistry with facility for cavity care, enamel decay restoration and aesthetic dentistry. All the departments of IDS are well equipped with sophisticated equipments like digital videography, Orthopantomography and Chrome Cobalt Laboratory. The Institute is manned by the dedicated and experienced teaching staff using innovative teaching aids and methodology.

Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) started its academic programmes in 2004 with the approval of AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Pharmaceutical studies and research have become high impact engagement in many sub-specialties like new drug design for optimal behaviour, drug stability and patient acceptance etc. New methods of computation open up more areas in pharmaceutical research. Both industry and practice sector around the globe need more pharmacy professionals who are clinically and technologically trained.
SPS offers programmes that are contemporary and updates the laboratories with sophisticated equipment. The infrastructure, library and allied support systems keep pace with the development.

Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Centre for Biotechnology came up in 2006 in the light of developments taking place around the world. Biotechnology has applications in industry, medical sciences and health care, crop production and agriculture, biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels and environmental conservation. DBT and DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi has funded research programmes in the center. Sophisticated laboratories have been set up to facilitate education and research in the area of biotechnology, bioengineering and bioinformatics.
The Centre offers Post Graduate and Doctoral programmes in biotechnology.

Faculty of Legal Studies

With recognition by the Bar Council of India (BCI), SOA National Institute of Law was set up in 2009. Law is an indispensable adhesive to any socio-political system. Increasing growth of civic consciousness in India and rising complexity of dimensions in Indian jurisprudence create a wide scope for law professionals. There is always place for legal advisers with clear understanding and implication of law. Corporate and business houses offer employment with substantial remuneration to law professionals for their proper functioning. In recent times bright students are opting for a course in law as a career. SNIL has experienced faculty and updated syllabi, e-library and developed support structure to impart state-of-the-art education and training in law.
