The subject primarily includes:
- Emerging technologies in pharmaceutical development and industrial pharmacy;
- Preformulation evaluation of pharmaceutical materials;
- Drug delivery technology (oral, inhalation, injectable, buccal, etc);
- Aerosols;
- Transdermals;
- Oral controlled release systems;
- Biotechnology specifically related to pharmaceutical technology, and targeted drug delivery;
- Research process engineering and scale-up of drug delivery systems;
- Methodologies, including statistical design/optimization;
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Assurance (QA);
- Packaging Management and Marketing Management.
Pharmaceutical Technology laboratory is well equipped with sophisticated instruments for the manufacturing and characterization of various dosage forms like tablets, capsules, parenterals, suspensions, emulsions etc. Biotechnology laboratory is also equipped with sophisticated instruments specifically for this branch. The students are guided by the esteemed faculties to achieve the entire concept of Pharmaceutical Technology covering the above areas during course period.
