Computer Sciences & Engineering
In recent years if any branch of engineering has posed multifaceted challenges and an equal degree of extensive research, it is computer science and engineering. Today, the branch is the epicenter of all other branches, including the world of entertainment and multimedia. The branch is one of the most sought after courses by the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department is also engaged in advanced research having an enrollment of 8 Ph.D. candidates. The B.Tech. programme has been re-accredited by National Board of Accreditation (AICTE).
The department has five laboratories out of which two are networking and computer organization laboratories equipped with different type of trainer kits and networking equipments and the remaining three laboratories are equipped with 200 computers. These laboratories are connected to the networking environment with 4 servers i.e. ALPHA server (with unlimited Unix), Window NT, Novel Netware and internet web server. ALPHA is a high-end server equipped with ALPHA processor 2164A @600 MHz, 128 KB L1 cache and 2 MB on board L2 cache. True 64 Unix OS engine with unlimited user license is quite powerful and includes unlimited license for C, C++ and various multimedia products. One laboratory is equipped with simulation tools and advanced computing resources for research and project activities. Software like Visual Studio, ORACLE 10g, SQL SERVER, LINUM, MATLAB-7 and various multimedia tools along with programming suits like C, C++ and JAVA are made available to all students and faculty. The thrust area of the departments are artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks, Bioinformatics, mobile ad-hoc wireless networks and data mining & data warehousing. Presently the department has 48 faculty members and 7 technical staff, totally dedicated to render best possible help to the students in an interactive manner.
The department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1996. Consequently, the department introduced the M.Tech Programme in 2003 and Ph.D. programme in 2007.
FEATURES :
