Siksha O Anusandhan University (SOAU) has come a long way from its literacy levels were low. Most students, who could afford, migrated to Universities outside the state to pursue careers in technical fields due to lack of facilities in Orissa.
This trend was unacceptable to a visionary Professor Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak who decided to establish Engineering Institute in Bhubaneswar as Institute of Technical Education and Research, popularly known as ITER.
That was way back in the academic year 1996-1997 when the first batch of students took admissions to pursue careers in engineering and technology in a small building.
There has been no looking back since then. Today Siksha O Anusandhan University completes 13 eventful years; the vision of its founder has taken shape of a University which Endeavour’s to make quality professional education accessible to student across all communities in India and abroad.
The objectives of Siksha O Anusandhan University is to promote professional education, research , training, and development in engineering, management, computer sciences, medical sciences, dental sciences, pharmacy, nursing etc. The university is catering to the professional manpower need of the country.

The Institute of Business & Computer Studies (IBCS) has been imparting teaching in Business Administration, leading to MBA Degree since 1997. The institute sincerely attempts to prepare professional in management for corporate and non-corporate sectors including Government and developmental institutions; while establishing an international network for education, training, research, development and consultancy in management and information resource management field. Since its inception it has become a pioneer in the field of management in eastern part of the country. Within a short span of ten years IBCS has reached the high echelon of success. We are living in an era where human knowledge is moving at an unprecedented speed of thought. Therefore we all have to think ahead. The institute shows proactive attitude to incorporate system and knowledge to cope with the changing needs of the society.
